As per Wikipedia : Comedo is
a clogged hair follicle (pore) in the skin. Keratin (skin debris)
combines with oil to block the follicle. A comedo can be open (blackhead) or closed by skin (whitehead) and occur with or without acne.

CAUSES :
1) Skincare products
: Some, not all, skin products might increase comedones by blocking pores. Greasy products can even worsen your acne. Skin products that claim to not clog pores may be labeled non-comedogenic or non-acnegenic. Make-up and skin products that are oil-free and water-based may be less likely to cause acne. Thus research of suitable product is must.
2) Oil production
: Oil production in the sebaceous glands hikes up during puberty, causing comedones and acne to be common in adolescents. Smoking may worsen acne. Thus there is a natural cause too for such nasty blackheads.
HOW TO GET RID OF NASTY BLACKHEADS / WHITEHEADS ?
REMEDIES :
1) Exfoliation Mask
:(B): Coconut oil and sugar scrub
These
are the most effective two kinds of exfoliation mixture / exfoliation
scrub that you can use on blackheads / whiteheads on your chin and nose.
Mix them well, apply to your face in a circular motion, massage it in
for five minutes before rinsing it off and apply moisturizer after
cleaning your face.
2) Turmeric
:
No Indian kitchen can be found where turmeric is not used. Due to its
natural antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties,
entire India eats it everyday since ancient ages. Even Indian marriages
have a special "Haldi Ceremony" whereby turmeric along with gram flour
is applied to the couple's body. Although it has numerous benefits,
talking particularly about the skin, it's a multi - problem solving
panacea. For blackhead removal take one tablespoon of kasturi turmeric
and mix with one tablespoon of water or coconut oil to form a paste,
apply the paste to your face and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before
rinsing it off with lukewarm water.
3) Baking soda and water
:
Despite Baking soda being a common kitchen item many of you might not
have realize about it's magical to eliminate blackheads. Baking soda
helps to neutralize any skin pH imbalance, as well as work as an
exfoliant to remove dirt, oil and dead skin cells. To use this on your
blackheads, mix baking soda and water equally together to form a paste.
Massage the paste onto your face, rinse off with warm water, and then be
sure to moisturize the face. This mixture could dry your skin, so don’t
use it more than two-three days a week. Moreover it is prohibited to
skin allergic people as it may increase itching and redness of that
area.
4) Egg white and honey mask
: It is a great remedy to get rid of your blackheads. The mixture can be applied all over the face. Leave it on until the skin starts to feel tight. Rinse off the mask with warm water. Not only will this mixture remove blackheads but it will also leave your skin with a glow. Yes, some vegans won't do it, but than you have other remedies too.
5) Lemon juice
: Though irritative, it's one of the best remedies I've ever used. Lemon juice removes dead skin cells and because it is a natural astringent, it also gets rid of blackheads. Before going to bed, use cotton wool to apply fresh lemon juice to clean skin, concentrating on the blackhead area.
You can leave this overnight and rinse
it off in the morning with warm water. Repeat this every night for a
week. Caution is needed when using lemon juice as it can dry your skin.
If you have dry skin, add olive or coconut oil to the lemon juice and
make sure to use a moisturizer once you have rinsed it off else dryness
can escalate resulting extremely itching and burning sensation.
